Augusta Area School District Athletic Complex Improvements Project

The Augusta Area School District has made a commitment to improve our current outdoor athletic complex. Our goal in doing so is to develop a working, safe, and inviting athletic complex on the Augusta High School Campus. The complex we currently have has many areas in desperate need of improvement. The district has made a significant financial commitment to the project and is currently seeking partners to join us in this effort. We feel with the support from the community we could partner to make a facility that our community and school district will be proud of. The Augusta School District is in need of a long term athletic facility. Over the years, the district has failed to do any substantial work on the drainage and the track facility and as a result all will need to be replaced. The overall layout and amenities will improve the functionality of the site based on projected future development and restore the facility to what it once was. Opportunities to improve the facility are based on the following areas: *Poor Condition of Track (cracked, uneven surface, age, 6 lanes) leads to safety concerns *Field events do not exist or are unusable *Grandstand is not handicap accessible *Repair will be needed to the bleacher supports to ensure the grandstands remain usable *Access to the grandstands and viewing area is not easily accessible to elderly or those in wheelchairs as there is no paved walkways *Poor lighting for events Phase 1 of this project would address all of these areas. The estimated cost of phase 1 is approximately $2,025,000. The district has secured funds and received donor commitments in the amount of approximately $1,500,000 thus far. Our goal is to raise the remaining $500,000 for phase 1. Phase 2 of this project would include improvements to our baseball and softball facilities. The timeline for phase 2 is yet to be determined based upon available funds. Detailed below are the recognition levels for any individual or organization interested in supporting the project. Any donation given to the project will be recognized within the complex.
