About this fundraiser

Please join us in raising funds to build a new playground at Prairie View Elementary School!

For hundreds of years, academics, teachers, and child psychologists have studied the impact of playing. Playing at school for children is important, not just for developing physical skills, but also for the development of social skills, creativity, imagination, and coordination. Playgrounds are essentials for schools to help foster play, collaboration, and community building skills in students which is why we feel so strongly about providing a new structure quickly for the students at Prairie View.

Our current playground for older students was built in the 1990s and despite continual maintenance and repairs, there are sections that are near unusable. It has been overdue for replacement and will need to be replaced in the next year.

Through parent and community contributions over the past few years, Prairie View PTO has been able to raise $40,000 for a playground thus far. In addition, Prairie View Elementary has been able to save $20,000 of the building fund to contribute to the playground. This puts us at a total of $60,000 currently allocated towards a playground. This may seem like a lot, and it is, but a playground to replace what we have will cost approximately $125,000.

This is where YOU come in. We NEED community funds to help us raise money for this desperately needed and important playground structure.

We appreciate your support. All donations will go directly to a new playground at Prairie View!
